How long do eyelash extensions last?

Semi-permanent lashes can last between 6 to 8 weeks. If you plan to maintain your lashes past the initial full set we recommend a fill every two or three weeks. This will keep your lashes looking their best at all times. When your natural lashes grow out, so do the extensions. When you come in for a fill, your stylist will remove any grown out lash extensions and replace them along with adding extensions to new growth. This will keep your lashes defined and avoid any criss-crossing or wonky-looking lashes.

Can I wear mascara?

We strongly suggest not using any mascara with your eyelash extensions.  If you do choose to wear eye makeup, please use water based mascara and not oil based or waterproof mascara to prevent the bonding agent from dissolving. We recommend using a water based makeup remover (or the cleanser we provide) as well because oil based solutions damage the adhesive.

Is it OKay to visit the spa, exercise, play tennis, go hiking or swimming, or shower while having eyelash extensions?

Absolutely. eyelash extensions are made using a waterproof bonding agent that allows you to play sports, practice yoga, swim, shower, etc. The best part is that lash extensions are low maintenance and only need occasional touch-ups. Avoid heavy water the first 48 hours after the application.

Are eyelash extensions safe?

YES, eyelash extensions are 100% safe! Our entire staff has been highly trained. We use formaldehyde-free lash adhesive on every client. The glue used is free of any irritants, fumes, or harmful chemicals and is high quality and long lasting to keep your lashes in place over their growth cycle. The bonding agent is specially designed for a luscious, fresh, amazing, and natural look. The adhesive used is soft and specially formulated for added comfort, ease of use, and flexibility. The whole process is completely pain-free provided that you use the services of one of our experienced and certified Lash Artists. This is a professional salon service to be performed by an eyelash specialty licensed professional, aesthetician, or cosmetologist.

What do they look like when properly applied?

Eyelash extensions have become quite popular and feel and look beautiful and natural when properly applied. If you dream of having luxurious, great looking, and long lashes, eyelash extensions are the answer.

How Do I take proper care of my eyelash extensions?

Avoid rubbing your eyes and no mechanical curlers. Avoid hot places such as saunas and never pull on your eyelashes. It is okay to use mascara occasionally but only from middle to tip. If you opt for eyelash enhancement, make sure you avoid perming your lashes. Avoid pulling or picking your eyes and stay away from heavy running water. If you apply makeup, choose an oil-free makeup remover for proper aftercare and to reduce cleanup time.

Can I go swimming soon after my appointment?

Yes.

Can I use eye makeup?

Yes, you can use eye shadows, base and other eye cosmetics. If you use mascara, please use water based mascara and not oil based or waterproof mascara to prevent the bonding agent from dissolving. Lash extensions are ideal for day-to-day wear, formal occasions, dinners, business meetings, etc. The extensions are lightweight to prevent damage to your own eyelashes, whether you choose to wear them for a week or two or permanently.

What if I need my lashes touched up?

If your lash extensions were applied from another salon, we will do our best to fix the lashes. And if the extensions are poorly applied and in need of repair, do not fret. Visit us to discuss different treatment options. One of our Lash Artists will carefully and gently remove the poorly applied extensions to replace them with a new set. DO NOT try to remove them yourself!!! You risk damaging and pulling out your own lashes.

What to do before my appointment?

If you wear contact lenses, you may want to remove them. Arrive 10 – 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time, makeup free if possible and with clean eyes and lashes. Avoid coffee two hours before your appointment.

What if i want a natural or glam look?

Our Lash Artists are very knowledgeable about different styles and looks. They can show you photos as examples of different types of lashes from natural to volume. If you have photos of the look you would like, please be sure to bring them with you to your appointment.

What types of products do you use?

We use the formaldehyde-free lash adhesive agents. You can choose 100% Siberian mink lashes, silk lashes and synthetic mink lashes. Volume eyelash extensions are readily available.

What is your refund policy?

We do not offer refunds on our services.  If you are unhappy with our cosmetic services, please contact Crystal Boyd, owner of LashBar Downtown within three days of the initial appointment. We will do our best to make sure you are satisfied with your lashes and our services.
